Training Packages - a series of courses with extra discount

As if our courses weren't affordable already, we've gone one better for people who are taking their training seriously. If you already know that one course isn't going to be enough to get you to where you want to be in terms of skills, then you can book a whole package of courses in advance. Packages provide a complete training programme for administrators, and it's the most cost-effective way to become fully competent in your chosen field. Typical costs work out at £200 to £210 per day.

Here are our packages for Linux and Solaris. Please see the terms and conditions for package bookings at the end of the page.

Solaris Packages

The first package is AD2, which is simply the Solaris Admin Parts 1 & 2. For the Admin 2 alone,
Sun's price would be £2175, so you are getting the Part 1 course for £75 instead of Sun's £1895.

The complete package is available for £2250 for the 10 days of training (individually taken, the price would be £2600)

The complete package is available for £2665 for the 13 days of training (individually taken, the price would be £3425)

The complete package is available for £3150 for the 15 days of training (individually taken, the price would be £3925)

The complete package is available for £3225 for the 15 days of training (individually taken, the price would be £4075)

The complete package is available for £4100 for the 20 days of training (individually taken, the price would be £5325)


Linux Packages

The complete package is available for £2100 for the 10 days of training (individually taken, the price would be £2625)

The complete package is available for £2730 for the 13 days of training (individually taken, the price would be £3450)

The complete package is available for £2310 for the 11 days of training (individually taken, the price would be £2950)

Terms and Conditions for package bookings

You must pay the full amount in advance, but you may book the individual parts at any later time within 1 year of the first course.

Payment must be received before a course can be confirmed.
Payment should reach us 15 working days prior to the start date of the first course.
We accept payment by cheque, bank transfer or debit/credit cards.
We will issue the following to you upon receipt of a booking
1. Proforma Invoice, showing courses booked and full amount due, including VAT.
2. Payment form for your cheque or credit card details.
3. Our printed terms and conditions.
Cheques should be made payable to First Alternative.
A full VAT invoice will be sent to you upon receipt of payment.

Course fees include lunch and refreshments, but not travel or accommodation.
VAT must be added to all quoted prices at the standard rate, currently 15%.
If you wish to cancel or postpone a course, you must do so in writing no less than 10 clear working days before the commencement date, or full payment will be due.
Substitution of delegates may be made at any time, but please inform our training administrator.
Any refunds will normally be made by cheque.
Course descriptions are provided on our web site and are available upon request. It is up to you to ensure all attendees meet the prerequisites for attending any course, especially those beyond the basic level. We reserve the right to cancel attendance and refund in full the monies paid for anyone who does not meet the minimum skill requirements.
